Scout was surprised on her birthday with Mary Poppins on Broadway tickets, so we decided to stick with that idea. When a friend e-mailed us about discounted circus tickets for the day after his birthday, we knew it was meant to be. Yay for making memories on a budget! We have read so many books about the circus and the kids had been seeing the posters all over town, so getting to do this was a really big deal. Nana and Poppa decided to jump on board so Tony took the day off and we made it a family affair. We started off with breakfast at Village Inn and then set off for the Pepsi Center. Parking just happened to be a breeze (thank God!) and our discounted seats were AMAZING!!! I mean, seriously GREAT seats. I think we were 3 rows up and centered perfectly to see everything - the elephants, tigers, horses, tight rope walkers, trapeze artists, clowns and much, much more!
The show was much better than I had anticipated and even little Ryder's attention was kept for the 2+ hour show. So grateful to live near a city that provides such great opportunities, for friends that hook us up with amazing seats for a great price, a flexible homeschool schedule that allows us the freedom to indulge in these family adventures and a husband and parents that are willing to take off of work and celebrate our precious River. Yay for a fantastic experience and so many, many blessings.
