#7 on my "30 before I turn 30" list is "Complete a 5k as a family of 5"
and I can now cross it off! We attempted the Jingle Bell run in
December but it was snowing with a high of 9 degrees and there was no
way we were dragging the baby out in that weather. We decided the Bunny
Bolt, the Saturday before Easter would be a good choice. It was such a fun race! The
weather could not have been more perfect, parking was simple and there was a 1k "rabbit rush" for the
kids and an egg hunt to close out the fun morning. Scout was super excited about running her first 5k and we've spent a good bit of time "training" together. I was actually a little nervous about it because our practice "runs" ended up being pretty frustrating and I was prepared to walk the vast majority of the race, but Scout really surprised me. She ran almost the whole thing - I was SO proud of her!!!
Some of our close friends joined us and we had a blast making our colorful tutus : ) They were a huge hit - everyone asked about them and we strutted proudly lol! Tony's brother and sister-in-law joined us for the race as well and Tony enjoyed running with his brother while pushing the double jogger with River and Ryder. Paul's wife, Katelyn, smoked us all : ) Overall, an awesome day and we look forward to running this again next year.
